KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 (Bernama) -- National ace Jazeman Jaafar may have failed to get on the podium on his maiden European Le Mans Series (ELMS) race at Le Castellet, France yesterday but he can at least take heart from having gained a lot of experience.
Despite finishing the Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) category race in 15th spot, the team Virage driver was glad that there were many positives he could take from the race.
"As a new team and with a new line-up, finishing fifth in the Pro-Am category has given us the motivation to redouble our efforts in the coming rounds in Imola, Italy and we, as a team, have the potential to be in front,” he said in an audio clip shared with the media today.
At the same time, Jazeman said although the race this time was more difficult compared to previous seasons, Virage, as a new team, should pay attention to the strengths and weaknesses of their rivals if they intend to do better.
For the record, Jazeman teamed up with French racer Gabriel Audry and American Rob Hodes to compete in the LMP2 category for team Virage.
Apart from France and Italy, the ELMS this year will also be held in Spain, Belgium and Portugal.
