KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 (Bernama) -- Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) continued their excellent start to the Super League season with a third straight win after defeating Kuala Lumpur City FC 3-0 at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras tonight.
The Southern Tigers needed just 18 minutes to draw first blood through Fernando Frontieri.
Things went from bad to worse in the second half when the City Boys had D. Kenny Pallraj sent off after he was shown a second yellow card for fouling JDT’s Leandro Velazquez.
With the City Boys down to 10 men, JDT turned on the style and Bergson da Silva helped himself to a brace. He scored from the spot in the 81st minute before adding his second - and his team’s third - for the night a minute later.
In another Super League match at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium, striker Daren Lok bagged a hat-trick - in the 12th, 31st and 38th minutes - to inspire Petaling Jaya City FC to a 3-0 win over Terengganu FC.
In KEDAH, Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) managed to capitalise on their home ground advantage to edge Sri Pahang FC 1-0 at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Star, thanks to centreback Rodney Celvin Akwensivie’s 55th-minute strike.
