DSA: Nano drone capable of conducting surveillance undetected

KUALA LUMPUR, March 31 (Bernama) -- The palm-sized nano drone is one of the new products of the defence industry that is equipped with a variety of advanced features and can be used for surveillance and enemy detection even at night as well as in dark areas.

Marketed by local company Delta Masis (M) Sdn Bhd, the device which has low noise emission is capable of performing the same functions as a normal-sized drone.

The company’s Business Development director, Masri Muhammad, said the drone was equipped with a high-definition camera that had adjustable focus for day and night as well as electronic zooming function.

“The drone is also equipped with anti-jamming technology and can fly for almost 30 minutes with a distance of up to three kilometres at an altitude of more than 2,000 metres,” he told Bernama.

He was met at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) and the National Security Asia (NATSEC) exhibitions 2022 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), here, where the drones were also on display.

Masri said its advanced features and functions had made it to become the choice of security forces at home and abroad that were really looking forward to such technology.

According to him, the price for a nano drone can reach up to RM800,000 and during the exhibition, which was attended by more than 54 countries, many visitors had expressed interest in owning it.

“Most of the special units of the security forces in the country have expressed interest in owning these drones because they carry out many tactical missions that require such technological expertise,” he said.

The DSA and NATSEC, which lasted for four days since last Monday and will end today, are participated by more than 1,000 companies from 54 countries.
