Bursa Malaysia launches dividend reinvesment feature on Bursa Anywhere App

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia Bhd has rolled out a  new feature on its Bursa Anywhere mobile application, enabling investors to participate in the dividend reinvestment plan corporate exercise electronically (e-DRP).

The exchange said the new e-DRP feature offers a one-stop solution for investors who want to participate in DRP corporate exercises. "The new enhancement reinforces Bursa Malaysia’s aim to democratise share investing and be more digitally inclusive," it said in a statement.

The Bursa Anywhere service is made available to individual Central Depository System (CDS) account holders, where investors need to register using the Bursa Anywhere app to use the service. 

It is available for download in the App Store and Google Play Store.

The stock market operator’s director of market operations Tay Yu Hui said the new service is a continuation of Bursa Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to enable easy and convenient access to CDS accounts of customers.

Other features of the Bursa Anywhere app include the transfer of shares among investors’ CDS accounts, easy access to statements, marked-to-market portfolio value display, remote CDS account openings, e-dividend subscriptions, reactivation of dormant and inactive CDS accounts, e-rights application, and e-general offer acceptance.
