SCIB APPOINTS TWO NEW INDEPENDENT DIRECTORS
KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Bernama) -- Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB) has appointed two new independent non-executive directors - Noor Azri Noor Azerai and Ku Chong Hong - to strengthen its board composition.
The board also resolved to appoint Shamsul Anuar Ahamad Ibrahim as an independent director of the company, the civil engineering specialist said in a statement.
Managing director and chief executive officer Rosland Othman said SCIB is “confident that the appointments will add to the breadth of diverse experience and expertise to drive the company’s future aspirations.”
"The board will benefit from their knowledge and unique perspectives; we look forward to Azri and Ku's valued contributions to the board.
"In addition, based on Shamsul's past tenure with SCIB, he had contributed effectively to the company in terms of governance and risk management. Hence, upon the board deliberation and having obtained the consent from Shamsul, the board resolved to appoint him independent non-executive director with immediate effect," said Rosland.
Ku brings over eight years of experience in audit and assurance, as well as business advisory, as he has been involved in various local and international companies in multiple industries.
Both Ku and Azri are currently executive directors of Bintai Kinden Corporation Bhd and independent non-executive directors in both Malaysian Genomics Resource Centre Bhd and NWP Holdings Bhd.
Azri is also an independent non-executive director in Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd.
