MELAKA, March 15 (Bernama) -- Former Rembia State Assemblyman Datuk Norpipah Abdol, 68, died at the National Cancer Institute in Putrajaya at 3.42 am today from cancer.
This was confirmed by Alor Gajah UMNO Youth deputy chief Ahmad Norazril Abd Aziz when contacted today.
Norpipah, who was also former State Women's Affairs and Health committee chairman also tested positive for COVID-19, he said , adding the her remains would be brought to Melaka for burial at the Kampung Pengkalan Muslim cemetery, Alor Gajah, at 11.30 am today.
"The funeral prayer will be held at Surau Al Huda Taman Seri Pengkalan at 12.30 pm today,” he added.
Norpipah was Rembia Assemblyman for three terms since the 12th General Election (GE), but her name was dropped in the 15th Melaka state election recently.
Throughout her involvement in politics, she had held positions such as Alor Gajah Wanita UMNO leader and Melaka UMNO Wanita Information Chief.
