Jobstreet Malaysia launches Asia's Biggest Virtual Career Fair

KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 -- JobStreet Malaysia and its parent company SEEK Asia today announced the launch of Asia’s Biggest Virtual Career Fair in response to the marked increase in the demand for tech talent. 

JobStreet Malaysia in a statement today said: “The event that is part of SEEK Asia's ‘Let's Get To Work’ campaign aims to match technology and digital job opportunities for the candidates. 

"The career fair will be held from March 9 to 11, with some of Malaysia’s top tech and digital jobs in multinationals like Top Glove, RHB Banking Group, Dell Technologies, Intel, IBM and TIME.”

Its 2022 Job Report reported a 42.4 per cent year-on-year increase in hiring from the computer and tech industry. 

"In the past two years (2020 and 2021), the digital transformation of businesses in the Food & Beverage, Financial Services and Property & Real Estate industries spurred the demand for computer IT talent, creating a need for employers and candidates to amplify efforts in upskilling and reskilling to hone digital skills.

"In addition, SEEK Asia’s Decoding Digital Talent report also highlights that digital workers are eager for job changes, with 63 per cent of digital talents actively seeking better career opportunities in other roles," it said.

Jobstreet Malaysia said the event would feature a mobile-first interface, enabling employers and candidates to participate virtually, from countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia, and Hong Kong. 

“Candidates and employers can access the virtual platform for on-the-spot, live interviews through real time connection via chat and online interview schedulers while the career tools are also accessible to candidates to gain insights on emerging roles and salaries in tech companies,” it added.
