KOTA BHARU, Feb 20 -- Parents must give encouragement to children who showed an interest in cartoon drawing, said cartoonist Norhasram Mohamad, or better known as Ozom.
The recipient of ‘Tokoh Kartunis Kelantan 2021’ said apart from having many developmental benefits, the activity could also help reduce the time the children spend staring at their screens.
"Parents can encourage or teach their children to do this art activity which can clearly hone their talents from an early age," he told reporters after conducting a basic cartoon drawing workshop at the Kelantan Art Gallery here today.
Norhasram said people could also use their drawing talents to generate lucrative income as a cartoon can be used in many forms, including advertisement and mass media.
"Cartoon drawing is an 'endemic' branch of art because it will not disappear just like that despite the sophistication of today's technology,” he added.
