GEORGE TOWN, Feb 13 -- Penang FC has confirmed that its wing-back Adib Raop suffered nasal cartilage damage and wounds in the altercation during a friendly match against Terengganu FC ll (TFC ll) in Kuala Terengganu last Feb 9.
Its general manager, Jeffrey Chew said Adib is recuperating well, thanks to quick action by the medical team and the hospital that he was treated at.
“Adib was taken for examination at a private hospital immediately upon the team’s return to Penang the next day.
“No Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test was required and he was confirmed not to have suffered any serious injuries after further examination at the hospital," he told Bernama via WhatsApp text today.
Adib was injured after he was involved in an altercation during the final of the Terengganu Menteri Besar’s Cup.
The incident, which happened at the end of the first half at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium resulted in the match ending earlier after the Penang FC players refused to play the second half.
