KOTA BHARU, Feb 13 -- Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) today signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) to offer a double degree academic programme which combines two bachelor’s degree programmes from the two public universities.
The programmes are Bachelor of Science (Hons) Statistics from the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, UiTM and Bachelor of Entrepreneurship (Logistics and Distributive Trade) with Honours from the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Business, UMK.
UiTM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Ts Dr Roziah Mohd Janor said both programmes had obtained full accreditation status from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
"The double degree academic programme of the two different public universities, which is the first in the country, has also received approval from the Department of Higher Education on March 15, 2019 and it will produce holistic and skilled graduates in meeting the country’s employment market needs.
"This programme also provides an opportunity for graduates to be more competitive and have a high level of employability when entering the job market, compared to students who only have one degree," she said after the signing ceremony here.
Ts Dr Roziah signed the MoA on behalf of UiTM while UMK was represented by its acting vice- chancellor Prof Dr Nik Maheran Nik Muhammad.
