KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 -- Kuala Lumpur City FC’s 2022 Malaysian Premier Futsal League (MPFL) Circuit 2 matches against Selangor TOT United and Selangor MAC will be replayed.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Appeals Committee, who met yesterday, decided to accept the protest lodged by KL City FC.
“The secretariat will set the dates for both the matches soon,” said FAM secretary-general Mohd Saifuddin Abu Bakar in a statement today.
On Sunday (Jan 23), FAM, through the Futsal and Beach Football Committee, had handed 5-0 victories to Selangor TOT United and Selangor MAC after KL City FC failed to turn up for both ties.
The committee made the decision in accordance with the provisions under Article 6 (6-1) (6-1-1) as contained in the Supplementary Rules for the Organisation of Tournaments 2022.
KL City FC could not field a team in both the Circuit 2 matches after several of their players tested positive for COVID-19 while the rest of their players and team officials, who were close contacts, had to undergo quarantine.
