Malaysian drone technology company MERAQUE SERVICES SDN BHD has partnered with Pharmaniaga Bhd to deliver critical medicines to flood victims across Kuala Langat, Selangor using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

A joint statement said four drones took to the skies for three days, delivering critical medical supplies by Pharmaniaga to over 30 homes within the vicinity of Bandar Seri Ehsan, Banting.

Meraque chief executive officer Md Razalee Ismail said medical delivery using drones are more cost and time-effective without compromising the safety, efficacy, and quality of the medicines by maintaining product temperature specification. 

Meraque and Pharmaniaga also worked closely with Malaysia's technical regulator, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), as well as the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (MCDF), to assure the UAV's safety and security.

Boost is also bringing back its popular e-Ang Pow feature which can be channeled as eDonations to a list of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and charities found in the Boost app.

SIME DARBY PROPERTY SUNRISE DEVELOPMENT SDN BHD (SDPSD), a joint venture between UEM Sunrise Bhd and Sime Darby Property Bhd, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Netherlands Maritime University College (NMUC) to establish a campus in Radia Bukit Jelutong, which was developed by SDPSD. 

A joint statement said the MoU was signed between UEM Sunrise chief marketing officer Kenny Wong and Sime Darby Property chief operating officer Datuk Mohd Idris Abdullah. Both of them represented SDPSD. NMUC was represented by its executive chairman Datuk Captain Razali Yaacob. 

Based on the MoU, NMUC will be take up a total of 24 commercial units at Radia Bukit Jelutong with a gross development value (GDV) of RM 27.6 million under a special rent-to-own (RTO) scheme. With a built-up area of 34,358 square feet, the space acquired by NMUC spans from the seventh to the ninth floor of the block. 

“With NMUC on board, we’re anticipating a large number of students to trickle into the Radia grounds. NMUC is expected to be a huge crowdpuller; this will be a good way to increase footfall as the new semester approaches. It is also a great way to boost business operations within the premises,” Wong said.

Property listings company PROPSOCIAL has become the first multilingual property website in Malaysia to provide content in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin, collecting real user reviews to determine what home buyers and tenants in Malaysia want. 

PropSocial said it is introducing a new feature in order to better comprehend and localise content. Searches, listings, and other content are translated into the three languages.

The property website said the Compare Properties feature allows users to contrast up to three properties simultaneously. This makes it easier for deliberation when it comes to the complex and often confusing process of choosing a house.

Its ‘Post your Requirements’ feature matches users with the property and agent. Together, these features create a holistic experience for anyone looking to buy or rent a property.

RHB INVESTMENT BANK BHD (RHBIB) has appointed Harris Ishak as its regional head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), effective Jan 5, 2022.

Its managing director Ganesh Sabaratnam said Harris will be leading the augmenting and building of RHBIB’s footprint in ASEAN. 

“His vast experience and in-depth knowledge in both capital markets and M&A advisory will help drive our regional platform and provide clients with the right solutions to meet their strategic M&A initiatives both locally and regionally,” he said in a statement today.

Harris is a seasoned banker with close to 20 years of experience in investment banking.
