KOTA KINABALU, Jan 1 -- National goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat has joined Sabah FC for the Malaysia League this season.
Sabah FC confirmed this matter in a posting on its official Facebook page today.
"Khairul Fahmi Che Mat is a Rhino! Welcome to the Land Below The Wind Bosku!" according to the post.
A Sabah FC spokesman told Bernama that details on the deal would be disclosed later.
Khairul Fahmi, 32, a former Melaka United goalkeeper, was a pillar of the Harimau Malaya squad under Datuk Ong Kim Swee, now Sabah FC chief coach, who retained the 2011 SEA Games gold.
Apart from Khairul Fahmi, three other national players - midfield schemer Baddrol Bakhtiar, defender Dominic Tan and Rizal Ghazali - have also joined Kim Swee's squad this season.
