KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 31 -- The Malaysian Premier Futsal League (MPFL) 2022 Circuit 1 at the Panasonic Sports Complex in Shah Alam has been postponed by a week to Jan 14-16, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said today.
FAM, in a Facebook post, said the date change was due to the recent floods which hit several states.
"Circuit 1 was originally scheduled to begin next Friday, Jan 7, but the FAM Futsal and Beach Football Committee has taken into consideration the difficulties faced by participating teams in their pre-season preparations following the flooding in several states,” it said.
FAM said the change in schedule was also due to the last-minute withdrawal of Sabah and Melaka, which now leaves the MPFL 2022 with 15 teams.
The revised competition schedule will be released soon.
