According to Mohd Saifuddin, the 56-year-old coach has been appointed to replace Yusri Che Lah, who announced his resignation on Dec 10.
He said Hassan Sazali was among the 11 candidates interviewed by the selection panel from FAM and MSN led by FAM deputy president Datuk S. For the record, Hassan Sazali was the assistant coach to Datuk Ong Kim Swee for the Harimau Muda A and B squads from 2009 to 2013, before being appointed as the head coach of the Harimau Muda C squad in 2014-2015.
He then became the assistant coach to Kim Swee for the national squad from 2016 to 2017, before becoming the head coach of the PJ Rangers, who played in the 2018 FAM Cup competition.
After focusing on his duties as an instructor for coaching courses organised by FAM throughout 2019, Hassan Sazali was appointed as the Perak State Youth Head Coach (KJRN) from early 2020 until the present.
For the upcoming Premier League season, Hassan Sazali will be helped by assistant coach Noor Zaidi Rohmat and goalkeeper coach Hamsani Ahmad.
