KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 27-- A notable outing with Harimau Malaya in the 2020 AFF Cup, earned its midfielder M. Kogileswaran Raj a contract extension with Petaling Jaya (PJ) City FC for the 2022 Super League.
PJ City through a Facebook post announced that the 23-year-old Kuala Lumpur-born winger, will remain with the Phoenix squad for the third consecutive season, since joining from Pahang in 2020 season.
"We're happy to announce Kogileswaran Raj's contract has been extended. A hardworking individual, who always gives his 100 per cent on the pitch and that led to the national call up for AFF Cup. To a great season ahead," according to the post.
Kogileswaran Raj, who has six caps for Malaysia, scored two goals for Harimau Malaya in the AFF Cup Group B campaign, to beat Cambodia 3-1 in the opening match and in the 1-4 defeat to arch-rivals Indonesia in the last group level match.
Malaysia however, failed to advance to the semi-finals after having finished third behind Indonesia and Vietnam, as only the top two teams will advance to the next stage.
