KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) was selected as the winner of the Local News Provider award at the Asia Business and Leadership Excellence Awards 2021 or ABLE Awards 2021 here tonight.
Bernama chairman Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi received the award from Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
Ras Adiba, when met after receiving the award, said it is an achievement and honour for what the Bernama staff have done so far.
“It is hoped that this award will be a catalyst to strengthen the spirit of Bernama staff to continue giving their best,” she added.
The award ceremony was organised by FM Media Communications in cooperation with the CEO Malaysia magazine.
At the ceremony, RTM won The Longest Running TV station award.
FM Media Communications, in a statement, said 50 awards were presented tonight, involving different fields including media, women in business, new entrepreneur, special leadership, local artiste and retail industry.
Each business was awarded based on three main criteria which include a company’s outstanding annual achievement, extraordinary leadership and significant accomplishments in its own field of expertise, it added.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the guests observed a minute of silence in respect of the flood victims in the Klang Valley, especially Selangor.
