COVID-19: 45,345 ORANG ASLI IN PAHANG VACCINATED  

KUANTAN -- A total of 45,345 or 89 per cent of Orang Asli in Pahang have completed their COVID-19 vaccination as of Nov 9, the Pahang State Assembly was told today.

State Public Works, Transport and Health Committee chairman Datuk Seri Norolazali Sulaiman said 46,538 individuals, or 91.3 per cent of this group, have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

He added that for the same period, a total of 7,395 Orang Asli communities had been infected with COVID-19, with a significant increase in cases since last July.

 "Based on the monitoring, they are more likely to get infected while at the workplace, in addition, some of them dId not comply with the stipulated standard operating procedures (SOP),” he said in reply to a question by Chiong Yoke Kong (PH-Tanah Rata) who wanted to know on the vaccination rate and factors contributing to the increased cases among Orang Asli in Pahang.

Meanwhile, Norolazali informed that a total of 121,265 foreign nationals in the state are fully vaccinated while 132,260 individuals have at least received their first dose.

KELANTAN PROPOSE TO RETAIN FOUR PKRC 

KOTA BHARU -- Kelantan has proposed to maintain its four low-risk quarantine and treatment centre (PKRC) to remain in operation in the state.

State PKRC director Dr Mohd Zurairie Mohd Zubir said this was following the small-scale existing centres in the state, which were unable to accommodate 500 patients at a time.

The four PKRCs that were identified are two at Gelanggang Seni and Dewan Jubli Perak here for male patients and two more at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Campus, Kubang Kerian and National Culture and Arts Hall in Tanjong Chat for female patients

 "These four permanent PKRCs can accommodate between 600 and 800 patients daily,” he told reporters after visiting USM PKRC at Kubang Kerian here today.

Dr Mohd Zurairie said currently, there are 650 patients housed at nine PKRCs that are still operating, with most of the patients treated being from categories one and two.

FOUR IKAN BAKAR TRADERS COMPOUNDED OVER WEIGHING SCALES, FAILURE TO DISPLAY PRICE TAG

 MELAKA -- Four Ikan Bakar (barbeque fish) traders in Melaka were compounded for various offences during enforcement inspections carried out through Op Menu from Nov 6 to yesterday (Dec 6).

State Unity, Community Relations, Labour and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Ngwe Hee Sem said all traders were compounded RM300 each, with three of them for failing to have calibrated weighing scale while another for failing to display a price tag.

"The compounds were issued on the spot under the Weighs and Measures Act 1972 and Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011,” he told reporters after a walkabout on implementing Malaysian Family Maximum Price Scheme at state-level here today.

28 LOCALS COMPOUNDED RM140,000 FOR VIOLATING SOP  

 KUALA LUMPUR --Twenty-eight locals have been slapped with compound notices amounting to RM140,000 for violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) of Phase Four of the National Recovery Phase (NRP) in a raid at an entertainment outlet in Old Klang Road last night.

Kuala Lumpur Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief Datuk Azman Ayob said the individuals comprised 16 men and 12 women, in their 20s to 50s 

 He said the premises owner was issued an RM25,000 compound.

"The compounds were issued under Regulation 17 of the Prevention and Control Infectious Diseases, which is a prohibited activity in the pubs and nightclubs during Phase Four of the NRP in Kuala Lumpur.

"The total compound issued during the midnight raid totalling RM165,000,” he said in a statement today.
