RM464 mln business leads estimated through the fourth week at Expo 2020 Dubai

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1  -- A total of RM464 million of business leads are estimated to have been obtained through the fourth week of the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA) hosting Expo 2020 Dubai from Oct 18 to Oct 28, 2021.

In a statement today, KASA said of the total, RM414 million was the business potential signed between Nextgreen Global Bhd and the Department of Industry and Economy, Emirate of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to explore investment in the development of Green Technology Park in Pahang.

Meanwhile, the extra RM50 million is a collaborative investment that will be explored in the near future between Freya Capital Sdn Bhd and National Bonds Corporation.

"This will open up more jobs and bring higher returns to the country in the long run to drive the country's climate and sustainability agenda," it said.

KASA said its participation also involved working visits to the University of Sharjah, National Bonds Corporation and the Department of Industry and Economy, UAE, aimed at exploring opportunities for strategic co-operation, research and investment between the governments of Malaysia and the UAE.

“KASA will also explore opportunities for collaboration in the field of water security research and studies with the University of Sharjah.

“These working visits are arranged for high investment impact and results specifically for sustainable development and increased climate resilience,” it said.

Malaysia's involvement in Expo 2020 Dubai is led by the Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and implemented by the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation, an agency under KASA,
