KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 24 -- Premier League Golden Boot joint-winner Jordan Mintah has dedicated the success to his Terengganu FC II (TFC II) teammates, saying he could not have done it without their support.
The imported Ghanaian striker thanked them for their camaraderie, especially since he himself had to battle injuries throughout the season.
"This award is a dream of every striker. It means a lot to me. Of course, I won this trophy with the help of my teammates, and I thank God for that," he said here today.
Mintah, who scored 16 goals in 10 matches, shared the Golden Boot Award with Johor Darul Ta'zim ll’s (JDT ll) imported striker Fernando Rodriguez.
Mintah, the top scorer of the 2019 Philippine League, lamented the fact that injuries had prevented him from making more appearances this season.
However, he is gald to have helped The Turtles to finish third in the league, behind Negeri Sembilan FC and Sarawak United.
Mintah is now training with parent team Terengganu FC (TFC) in preparation for the Malaysia Cup, which kicks off on Sunday.
"If given a chance to be a part of the squad (TFC), I am happy to play and help the team.
"TFC and TFC ll are a family and everyone should be ready to help if given a chance," he said.
