Prestar extends partnership with Japan’s Murata Machinery

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 1 -- Prestar Resources Bhd (Prestar) is extending its collaboration with Murata Machinery Ltd (Japan) (MURATA) for the supply of automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) racking system.

Prestar managing director Datuk Toh Yew Peng said the extended collaboration would provide its wholly-owned subsidiary, Prestar Storage System Sdn Bhd (Prestar Storage) with a growth opportunity to participate in the supply of ASRS racking system to various MURATA subsidiaries and markets.

“This extended collaboration is expected to give Prestar Storage instant accessibility in terms of supplying ASRS racking system to e-commerce, pharmaceutical, omnichannel distributions and high-throughput industries such as fast-moving consumer goods in the global market,” he said in a statement today.

The steel products and equipment maker said Prestar Storage had recently entered into a supplemental manufacturing partnership agreement with MURATA’s logistic and automation division to include nine additional MURATA subsidiaries in the manufacturing partnership agreement.

The nine subsidiaries are from the United States, China, Europe, India, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

With the supplemental manufacturing partnership agreement, Prestar Storage will be covering a total of 10 regions, including the main partnership located in Japan.

Prestar Storage is engaged in the business of providing storage solutions under the brand name ‘MYSTAR’, while MURATA is one of the largest designers and manufacturers of material handling systems in Japan.
