SINGAPORE, Aug 1 -- The owner of ‘Kelate’ food stall offering Kelantanese cuisine has adopted a new approach to attract customers in line with the stringent measures currently introduced under Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) in Singapore to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Until Aug 18, dining in at food and beverage (F&B) stores is not allowed and the number of people in social gatherings is limited to two.
All F&B businesses, including hawker and food centers, can only offer delivery services as well as take-away.
"We will probably introduce a family meal set menu. Of course the price of such a set will be lower and can be enjoyed by the whole family," said Sasqia Dahuri to Bernama when met at the new location of the stall at Block 38A, Beo Crescent Market here.
According to the Malaysian actress, customers can now place orders not only on social media platforms but also through the website https://kelatesg.com/.
Sasqia explained that the ‘Kelate’ stall which was previously located in Toa Payoh had been relocated since mid-July and hoped that customers would be able to visit the stall at the new location.
“It is quite strategic and close to the Malaysian High Commission at Jervois Rd here. Also it is quite spacious and convenient for customers to queue.
"In fact, 'Kelate' is also adjacent to two Singaporean-owned shops that provide Halal food and beverages," said the graduate of Multimedia Malaysia University.
‘Kelate’ previously not only received response from compatriots stranded in Singapore but also loved by locals.
The Pasir Mas, Kelantan native is also thinking of running her stall operating hours after working hours as soon as the next Phase of the strict measures allowing ‘dining-in’ again.
The actor has been running this 'Kelate' stall since last February by offering the popular ‘nasi kerabu tumis’ in Kampong Salor, Kelantan as well as 'laksam’, ‘mi celup’ and ‘colek malah'
Sasqia, whose real name is Nurlisasqia Ahmad Dahuri said ‘Kelate’ has a “central kitchen” to meet the increasing demand for the original cuisine of the state of Che Siti Wan Kembang.
Sasqia, 35, who has been here since the border closure in March last year, married Singaporean Muhammad Asyraff Khan Baharudin Khan in 2018.
