KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 -- Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PDB) plans to amplify its Food Bank Programme to include more than 400 Petronas stations nationwide to reach out to more Malaysians affected by the pandemic.
In a statement today, PDB, which is the marketing arm of national oil company Petroliam Nasional Bhd, said it has allocated RM600,000 worth of food supply to boost the programme so it could reach more beneficiaries and people in need.
It said beneficiaries and those who prefer to contribute physically can search for the programme’s participating stations through new features provided in the Petronas e-wallet mobile application (app) called Setel.
"The app users can also opt to purchase food bank packs from their vehicle through its Deliver2Me feature while at the station, while members of the public can also contribute online from the safety of their homes.
"Mesra members can redeem and convert their points into food bank packs through the Setel app while the food bank packs can also be purchased directly from www.petronasmerchandise.com," PDB said.
Meanwhile, PDB's managing director and chief executive officer, Azrul Osman Rani said the company makes zero profit from the contributions made by the public.
"We are also working closely with other government-linked companies, our business partners and within the Petronas group for wider reach and greater impact.
"This is an encouraging start, and we look forward to sharing more updates on this initiative," he said.
