UEM SUNRISE BHD has contributed and arranged for essential goods to be distributed to 250 families of Kampung Segambut Dalam affected by the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in its latest corporate social responsibility (CSR) effort. 

UEM Sunrise chief executive officer Suffian Abdullah said as a responsible corporate entity and guided by its corporate values, the company will continue to do its best to assist affected groups, including frontliners, during these difficult times. 

“My heart goes out to all residents of Kampung Segambut Dalam affected by the lockdown. It is imperative that we support our close communities, and we hope that our contributions will lessen some of their worries,” he said in a statement today.

BAYO PAY (M) SDN BHD has developed a digital salary disbursement platform that could benefit all contractors and construction personnel who have registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).

In a statement today, the local fintech company said the Construx Payroll Platform is available to all contractors and construction personnel who have registered with CIDB at no cost as the solution is part of the CIDB Construction Personnel Registration Card Enhancement Programme. 

“With Construx Payroll, the construction companies can now pay salaries into its employees’ CIDB Green Card and Construx mobile wallet application, designed for all contractors and construction personnel registered with CIDB in Malaysia,” it said.

MALAYSIA DIGITAL ECONOMY CORPORATION (MDEC) has implemented a vaccination programme for its staff to help accelerate the country’s target of achieving herd immunity and combat the spread of COVID-19. 

Chief executive officer Surina Shukri said MDEC has initiated a drive to inoculate its employees as well as their immediate family members through the Selangor Vaccine Program (SelCare) which started earlier this month. 

“To facilitate the vaccination process, MDEC has conducted a registration drive for its staff last month which received an encouraging 226 registrations from MDEC employees and their immediate family member,” she said in a statement today. 

She noted that 332 people, or 66 per cent, out of a total 502 MDEC employees have received their COVID-19 inoculation, including those through the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme, to date.

SME BANK has continued the production of SUKSES TV programmes by introducing SUKSES 4.0, a reality TV format entrepreneurship competition aimed at nurturing digital savvy young entrepreneurs to face business challenges in the new normal. 

Group president and chief executive officer Aria Putera Ismail said SUKSES 4.0 will traverse the journey of 10 participants from startup companies with the guidance from mentors who are also SME Bank’s customers. 

“Looking at the importance of social media and digital adaptation in business especially during this difficult period, SME Bank changed the SUKSES 4.0 format to provide long-term value to participants and enable them to adapt to the latest trends in the business world,” he said in a statement today.
