KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 -- A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale struck the Talaud Islands in Indonesia at 3.35 pm today.
According to a statement from the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the incident occurred 70 kilometres (km) west of Talaud Island with a depth of 166 km.
However, MetMalaysia said the quake did not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia.
