IPOH, June 2 -- Perak FC have confirmed that they will be bringing in nine new players to strengthen the team to continue the rest of their Super League campaign this season.
According to a statement by the Perak FC management via the club's official Facebook, they are currently awaiting approval for the registration of the nine players from the Malaysian Football League (MFL).
"The names of the new players will be officially announced once they get registration approval from the MFL.
"The presence of these nine new players is a very clear statement from Perak FC about our seriousness to remain competitive so as not to disappoint Perak football fans," said to the statement.
Before this, among the names mentioned will join The Bos Gaurus squad are two players from Lebanon, namely Samir Ayass and Jad Noureddine, Charlie Machell from England and Zoubairou Garba (Cameroon).
Their presence is likely to fill the void left behind by Guilherme De Paula, Shahrul Saad, Shakir Hamzah, J. Parthiban, Kenny Pallraj and Nazirul Naim Che Hashim.
According to the statement, the club management took advantage of the transfer window this time to get new players for the sake of balance and continuity of the strength of the existing team.
"This step was also taken after realising the grievances and views of all fans and supporters of the club regarding the migration of the six pillars of the team to other clubs," added the statement.
Apart from that, the reshuffle was also done for the sake of management and administrative restructuring which resulted in cost savings of about half a million ringgit per month.
"This austerity measure is very important to help the team overcome its financial crisis either in the short or long term. Perak FC hope that all supporters can continue to be patient and put full trust in the club's management," the statement stressed.
