Nazirul Naim latest player to leave Perak FC

IPOH, May 25  - Former national left back, Nazirul Naim Che Hashim, has confirmed his departure from Perak FC to join another Super League team this season.

The Kuala Kangsar-born player said he recently requested that the management release him after signing on in the 2016 season.

"Truth be told, this (move) is not something I wanted. But after reviewing many things and discussing with my family and close friends, it needs to be done.

"Regarding which team I will play for, let the team themselves announce it. I do not want to jump the gun,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.

The 2018 Malaysia Cup champions had earlier lost their team captain, Shahrul Saad and naturalised striker, Guilherme De Paula to Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) while Kenny Pallraj and J Parthiban made the decision to join Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC.

Nazirul Naim said the decision to move was not due to the deferred salary but after he considered his future and due to not getting enough match time as he wanted.

"I did not get to play for the full 90 minutes much this season. So when a team can offer me that, I think they can see my potential. This is also one way I can up my game,” he said.

In addition, he admitted that The Bos Gaurus will face an uphill battle to remain in the Super League following the migration of several key players to other teams.

"In reality, this isn’t enough. I’m not saying that young players lack potential but Super League action is not like the Premier League. Combined with the lack of experience, I think it will not be easy if we want to experiment with the remaining matches,” he said.

Nazirul Naim also said he will never forget what Perak FC has done for him and will always be open to playing with the club in the future.

“In my heart, I have never said no to Perak but for now, let me take a different path. Who knows, maybe fate will lead me back here again,” he added.

Today, Nazirul Naim tweeted, “It’s not easy to make a decision for your whole career and family. Always have pro and contra. But yeah. It’s life. Once you make a decision. Take it as a challenge. Thank you for the memory. I’m sorry”.
