Lee Tuck joins TFC on loan

KUALA LUMPUR, May 19  - After failing to make an impact in Sri Pahang FC's lacklustre start in the Malaysia League (M-League) 2021, import player Lee Andrew Tuck will return to wear his old Terengganu FC (TFC) jersey until the end of the competition this season.

It ends speculation about the fate of the 32-year-old Huddersfield, United Kingdom-born player with The Elephants after several changes were made in the squad coached by Dollah Salleh to beef up their performance in the remaining Super League matches.

Sri Pahang FC today confirmed that they had reached an agreement to loan the former TFC captain to his old team until the end of the 2021 season.

"Lee is being loaned to Terengganu FC during the second transfer window this year and will return to wear the Sri Pahang FC jersey next season," said a statement from Sri Pahang FC.

The second transfer window of the 2021 M-League is from May 3 to 30.

Lee Tuck joined Sri Pahang FC earlier this season after his contract with TFC which ended at the end of last year was not renewed.

He previously spent three seasons with TFC and scored more than 20 goals which helped the team emerge runners-up in the 2018 Malaysia Cup, besides helping TFC secure a slot to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup this season.

Lee Tuck's presence at TFC will give more options to TFC coach Mohd Nafuzi Mohd Zain in the team's attacking machinery in challenging for the Super League title and thereafter in the Malaysia Cup campaign scheduled to start next August.

TFC are currently ranked second in the Super League with 27 points, three points behind leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) while Sri Pahang FC are in ninth place after collecting  just 12 points.
