Azman Adnan looking to help out former footballers

KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 -- Former Harimau Malaya and Selangor striker Azman Adnan is determined to help out other former local football players through the sale of products using his own brand, through cooperation with Jemz Group International Sdn Bhd (Jemz Group).

Azman said apart from producing products and content for ‘The Azman Adnan’ YouTube channel, featuring interviews with former teammates and veteran players as well as sharing his experiences as a footballer, he was also trying to track down former players who were once an integral part of the local footballing scene.

However, he said the COVID-19 pandemic was currently limiting the effort.

“Actually, our goal is to do charity for the old players and due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) we cannot move freely, so I myself will look for the players after this.

"Currently I am trying to get in touch with my friends from the 1990s who need help, and I am thankful that the response from fans (to my products) is very encouraging," he told Bernama.

Azman said he was, in fact, himself surprised with the response from local football fans who still remembered him even though he had hung up his boots almost 20 years ago.

He said at first, he was a little nervous about running the business, and was worried if he could still get the attention of his fans.

“But I hold on to the principle that if we are sincere, God willing, we can succeed. I would like to thank all the fans who still know ‘Man Turn Man Score’," he added.

Meanwhile, Azman said he and Jemz Group were also planning on sponsoring one of the teams in the Malaysian League, and an announcement would be made once it had been finalised.
