JASIN, May 15 -- Kamaruddin Yusof, the father of national archer Haziq, who died yesterday, said the last time he ever saw his son was through a video call on first Syawal (Thursday).
"Nothing out of the ordinary. He said he was healthy. He told me everything was good," Kamaruddin told reporters when met after the funeral at Taman Koperasi Serkam Darat Muslim cemetery in Merlimau early today.
He added that Haziq, who was the second from three siblings, was also excited to talk about his training and preparations for the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Kamaruddin said the family had accepted his son’s death as fated.
Haziq, 27, was pronounced dead at the Kajang Hospital at 9.37 am.
According to a family member, Haziq collapsed after performing the Subuh prayer at his house in Kajang.
