MELAKA, May 10 -- There will be no import players involved in Petaling Jaya (PJ) City FC's second transfer plan for their Malaysia League (M League) campaign this season.
Head coach P. Maniam said he still have faith in his squad, which comprises 100 per cent local players and had shown their best performance in the first round of the Super League campaign.
“I’m happy with the current performance of the players and will definitely retain the existing line-up to boost their confidence.
“We are in the midst of identifying another one or two players, a number nine (main striker) as we don’t know when Darren Lok will come back, but if we can’t find one, then we will use either Mahali Jasuli or Kyril Muhymeen Zamberi,” he told reporters after the match against Melaka United FC here last night.
The Phoenix managed to collect one point after holding the host to a 0-0 draw even with the latter dominating the game.
Meanwhile, Melaka United FC coach Zainal Abidin Hassan expressed his disappointment after his team failed to take advantage of playing on home turf despite having improved their game plan and displayed high discipline on the field.
“They were so blunt upfront and their finishing move was very disapponting,” he said.
The result saw PJ City FC remained in eighth place in the Super League with 15 points, while Melaka United FC dropped to the second last spot with 11 points.
