KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 -- A total of 308 piecemeal workers in the Malaysian Broadcasting Department have been appointed as contract officers, effective April 1.
Secretary-general of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek hoped that the appointment would motivate the officers to further increase efforts, commitment, productivity and the quality of their work.
"…prove that the recognition given by the government is in line with the sacrifices you have made over the years.
"I also hope that all of you will be able to help turn RTM (Radio Televisyen Malaysia) into a trusted and major source of news and make the station the people's first choice," he in his speech at the letter of appointment presentation ceremony at Angkasapuri RTM, today.
Among those appointed were, the longest-serving piecemeal worker in RTM, news presenter Norlela Mohd Nor, who began her service in 2000, as well as its Malay news editor Hasron Hassan who has been in service since 2001.
