MIRI, March 25 -- Former national sprint champion, Watson Nyambek, is one of the individuals featured in four COVID-19 vaccine awareness promotion videos launched by the Miri Divisional Disaster Management Committee (JPBB) today.
The videos aiming to provide information and promote awareness about the importance of vaccines in preventing COVID-19 infection last between 56 seconds and 1:29 minutes and are produced in the English, Malay, Chinese and Iban languages.
"The launching ceremony of the promotional videos was held at the meeting room of the Miri Division Resident's Office immediately after a meeting of JPBB Miri today," JPBB Miri chairman and Miri Division Acting Resident, Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf, said in a statement here .
He said apart from Watson, who was dubbed the "Flying Dayak” in his heyday, other individuals featured included Sarawak Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin, who is also the state minister in charge of JPBB Miri and two medical experts, Datuk Dr Fam Tem Lom and Dr Faizul Mansoor.
According to Abdul Aziz, the second and third phases of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme involving the public in the division will begin next month.
