Habib unveils Chinese New Year collection

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 22 -- Homegrown jeweller Habib has unveiled its “Auspicious Blooms” collection, ox limited edition 999 gold wafer (0.2 gramme) and ox edition 999 gold bar (five gramme) in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year.

It said the collection of flower in full bloom amplified good fortune, peace and joy while the ox edition gold is in line with 2021 as the year of the Metal Ox, which according to the Lunar Calendar’s 12 animal cycle and five-element cycle, only happens once every 60 years.

“The wafer packaging is designed in red to add the finishing touch of an ‘ang pow’, making it the perfect gift for all loved ones.

“For higher investment appetites, Habib also launched the ox edition 999 gold bar featuring a handsome bull about to drink from a calm river -- poetically representing a moment of reflection and rest after a day’s hard work,” it said in a statement.

Habib said it is also twisting the classic abacus into voguish statement jewellery pieces to set the fashion trend for Chinese New Year.

It said this interesting spin of abacus range premiered a new addition to Habib’s own brand of “Oro Italia 916” collection.

“As with all Habib Oro Italia 916 gold jewellery, this gold abacus range is beautifully hand-finished with cutting edge jewellery technology from Italy -- diamond cut, high-polish and matte finish, thus creating fine intricate details on each moveable bead,” it said.
