KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 2 -- The mystery of who will be the main striker for Terengganu FC (TFC) this upcoming season has been solved when David Da Silva confirmed joining the Turtles for their Malaysia League (M-League) and 2021 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup campaigns.
TFC in a statement today said Brazillian Da Silva, 31, possessed an excellent record, having helped Persebaya Surabaya emerged as runners-up in the Liga 1 Indonesia in 2019, scoring 14 goals in 17 matches.
"David Da Silva has signed a one-year-contract with TFC. Standing at 185 cm and with a stellar record with his old team (Persebaya), we are confident he will provide a challenge to rivals on the field,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, TFC head coach Nafuzi Zain said he was excited with the arrival of Da Silva as TFC’s main striker.
He said Da Silva, who will be wearing the no. 14 jersey, is a complete package as a striker and will hopefully be able to fill the void in TFC’s attack left by Dominique Da Silva.
"I hope he can help TFC achieve the same success as he has had with his previous team,” he said.
