BSN offers more prizes worth RM31.44 mln for SSP 2021 campaign

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 -- Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), which awarded RM23 million to winners of its Premium Savings Certificate (SSP) draws in 2020, will offer 19,426 prizes worth RM31.44 million this year to keep encouraging the public to save.

This represented an increase of 11,789 prizes worth RM8.44 million from last year, said chief operating officer Kameel Abdul Halim.

“We are aware that in the current volatile economic situation, saving may be challenging. However, with the great rewards offered, it is hoped Malaysians will be encouraged to continue saving,” he said in a statement today.

In 2020, BSN SSP kept seeing encouraging response. The number of depositors throughout Malaysia had surpassed four million people with savings of RM3.87 billion as of November last year.

This year BSN aims to to produce more millionaires through the BSN SSP Special Draw, which is being maintained in the BSN SSP 2021 Campaign with a reward of RM1 million.

The bank, which also announced today the 12th BSN SSP millionaire or ‘Super Millionaire’ who will bring home BSN SSP RM2 million, said since the RM1 million reward was introduced in 2014, 57 BSN SSP savers had become millionaires.

This year, BSN will continue to offer RM1 million cash savings as a reward for BSN SSP Special Draw winners in January, February, March, April, May, July, August, September, October and November 2021.

In June and December 2021, two winners stand a chance to win the BSN SSP RM1 million reward.

The minimum saving period to be eligible to participate is 90 days before the draw date with a minimum deposit of RM3,000.

Besides maintaining the Local Draw, BSN is also introducing a Monthly State Draw -- a new draw for customers in all states -- and a New Saver Draw this year to further encourage saving habits among Malaysians.

For the Monthly State Draw, a total of 13 winners from each state will have a chance to win the main prize in the form of BSN SSP cash savings worth RM50,000. This draw is open to customers aged 12 and above who save with BSN SSP with a minimum savings of RM100.

As for the New Saver Draw, it will be held in March, June, September and December 2021 and the main winner will receive BSN SSP cash savings worth RM50,000. The minimum saving period to be eligible to participate is less than one year before the draw date with a minimum savings of RM100.

BSN is also maintaining the Monthly Draw and Loyalty Draw in 2021.

“I would like to urge the public who still do not have BSN SSP savings to do. Now you have a million reasons to save with BSN SSP,” Kameel said.
