KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 29 -- National under-23 football striker Hadi Fayyadh Abdul Razak will be playing for Division 3 club Azul Claro Numazu in the Japan professional league (J.League) beginning January on a one-year loan from Fagiano Okayama.
The 20-year-old player has been with Division 2 side Fagiano Okayama since October 2018, making him the first Malaysian to play in the J.League.
Yakult Malaysia managing director Hiroshi Hamada said the move, taken following discussions between his company, Fagiano Okayama and Hadi Fayyadh, would enable Hadi Fayyadh to gain more match experience.
“His participation in the J.League Division 3 is important to help Hadi gain playing time and match exposure,” he said in a statement today.
“I believe Hadi can adjust himself and give his best to build up his experience,” said Hamada, who has been instrumental in guiding Hadi Fayyadh’s career in Japan.
Hadi Fayyadh said he was excited and looking forward to proving himself with his new team, who are based in Numazu, Shizuoka.
“I would like to thank Fagiano Okayama especially the coaches and players. I’m glad that I have learnt a lot and improved during my two-year stint with the club.
“I regard this as a temporary separation and I’m sure of returning to join Fagiano Okayama later. Insyaallah I will give my best to Azul Claro Numazu,” he added.
