Kelantan FC: Mostly young players to play in M-League

KOTA BHARU, Dec 25 -- Ninety per cent of the Kelantan Football Club (Kelantan FC) squad to play in the Malaysian League (M-League) next season will comprise state-born young players.

Kelantan FC The Red Warriors (TRW) operations manager Jamilulail Jamiludin said the young line-up consisted of the players from the Kelantan Youth Cup and President Cup squads for the 2020 season.

He explained that the selection was done by the new management of Kelantan FC and monitored by the club's owner, Norizam Tukiman.

"A match between the under 19 and 21 teams was held at the Kota Bharu Synthetic Field, today to identify the best players to be absorbed into this club.

"The club's technical director who is also a former Johor and national player, Abdul Nasir M. Yusof was responsible for selecting the players under the watchful eye of the club owner Norizam Tukiman.

"As a result of this friendly match, 90 per cent of the best players from both teams will be absorbed into the main team in the 2021 season," he said in a statement uploaded via the club's official Facebook account, today.

Jamilulail said those selected would be under the guidance of a coach from Italy to face competitive action in the M-League campaign, especially the Premier League.

"These players will be trained by the team head coach from Italy who will mould the young team to international standard.

"The final selection will be announced along with the coaching staff in a special team introduction ceremony in early January 2021," he added.

Earlier, Norizam was reported to have said that he would make a major overhaul of the players and the coaching line-up to face the M-League competition next season.
