KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 -- The first location for the Roadshow (Jerayawara) to enliven the Rukun Negara 50th anniversary celebration at the Kuala Lumpur Library today was boosted by the participation of the library staff.

The roadshow, organised by the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) aimed to rejuvenate the celebration and further strengthen the appreciation of Rukun Negara among Malaysians.

Kuala Lumpur Library senior librarian Anita Mohd Jali said her team would also help promote the celebration as well invite those who visit the library to appreciate and embrace Rukun Negara.

"It is time for us to hold such a roadshow to re-introduce and remind the principles of Rukun Negara to the public, especially the new generation.

"We will also help to remind, create awareness and promote this celebration to the public," she said after receiving promotional materials from Bernama Deputy Editor-in-Chief Abdul Rahman Ahmad and Rukun Negara 50th Anniversary Celebration project head Roslan Ariffin here.

Roadshow coordinator Hasnita Ibrahim said a total of 26 locations had been selected for the tour, involving 16 schools nationwide.

"This week we will focus on the library, next week we will go to the 16 selected schools, including primary and secondary schools in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor, Melaka and Johor.

"This roadshow will end on Sept 15 and we hope it can instil the spirit of Rukun Negara among young people so that they can appreciate and understand its meaning," she said.

Apart from that, the roadshow also provided an opportunity for Bernama to promote and organise various activities related to Rukun Negara.

Among the activities organised by Bernama in conjunction with this celebration are Insta Challenge, Rukun Negara Hour, Webinar, e-Tressure Hunt, ‘Bual Bicara’ series, documentary and others.
