KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 -- A third party will be appointed to conduct tracer studies to evaluate the effectiveness of training provided by registered training providers under the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF).
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M.Saravanan said this was to ensure the transparency of the information provided, especially in terms of reporting the success of training in meeting the objectives targeted at participants.
“All this while, the training providers submit the report to us, which may or may not be accurate.
“So, now as requested by HRDF, a third party will conduct proper tracers on training programmes to ensure transparency,” he told reporters after launching the HRDF National Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA) initiative here today.
Earlier, Saravanan, in his speech, said HRDF PENJANA has shown positive achievements with over 15,000 job placements offered since the government’s initiative was launched on June 22.
As of Aug 15, the PENJANA HRDF programme had received 9, 239 proposals with 2,548 employers offering job placements, he added.
At today’s event, Saravanan also handed over letters of employment to 50 individuals who will undergo training soon before reporting for duty with their respective employers.
He added the training cost for each individual is estimated at RM5,000 while the technical skills training is more than RM7,000 which included the training cost which is fully borne by HRDF through its PENJANA allocation.
“All these individuals have successfully passed the interview and were selected to undergo training to equip themselves with the necessary skills. Once the training is completed, they will start working for at least 12 months with a salary between RM1,800 and RM7,000,” he said.
The jobs and skill training are provided through the five strategic initiatives of HRDF namely placement and train; upskilling and reskilling; small and medium-scale industrial development (SME Development); B40 Development, and ‘gerak insan gemilang’ (GIG).
