SHAH ALAM, July 13 -- Morib state assemblyman Hasnul Baharuddin today took his oath of office as the new deputy speaker of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly.
Hasnul takes over from Sementa state assemblyman Dr Daroyah Alwi who resigned on June 13 after quitting Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and becoming an independent representative.
Hasnul was sworn in before Speaker Ng Suee Lim. The state assembly is scheduled to sit from today to July 24.
None of the 56 state assemblymen raised any objection when Hasnul's name was proposed as the new deputy speaker.
