24/06/2020 03:18 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24  -- The following is an update from the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (KKMM) Quick Response Team on countering fake news related to COVID-19 on social media.

1. The Terengganu Health Department has denied that a durian seller in Wakaf Tembesu was infected by  COVID-19 and admitted to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ), as was viralled on the  WhatsApp application.

The department stressed that there are no COVID-19 patients at HSNZ currently. Instead, HSNZ only received a male patient experiencing "Severe Acute Respiratory Infection" (SARI) symptoms on June 20, 2020 and that the PCR test on him on June 21 was negative for COVID-19.
