KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 -- McDonald's Malaysia today launched its annual ‘Discover the World’ campaign with the delicious tastes of Japan, bringing back the popular Samurai Burger and Shogun Burger.
In a statement today, McDonald's Malaysia said the Samurai Burger, which was last offered in 2015, has become one of Malaysians’ most anticipated menu items, while Shogun Burger received positive responses from Malaysians when it was first launched in the same year.
The Samurai Burger comes with succulent beef or chicken patties dipped in the sweet-savoury teriyaki sauce, layered with the McChicken sauce, fresh lettuce, and set in between toasted sesame seed buns.
For those who prefer having their burger with egg, Shogun Burger is a great choice to satisfy their cravings.
According to vice president and chief marketing officer, Melati Abdul Hai, the 'Discover the World’ campaign has become an important platform for McDonald's Malaysia to provide a wide variety of distinct menu items to Malaysians, featuring unique flavours from selected countries across the globe.
"This year, we are bringing back the delicious tastes of Japan to Malaysians, with two favourite Samurai Burger and Shogun Burger.
"Many Malaysians had put on hold their overseas travel as of now, but through our 'Discover the World’ menu, we hope that the taste pleasure can, in some way, transport people to different parts of the world and give them a sense of what that country has to offer,” she added.
Both Samurai Burger and Shogun Burger are served in a set together with French fries and a Coke drink. It is available from May 14, with a medium set of Samurai Burger priced from RM14.99.
Shogun Burger will be available only from May 28, priced from RM15.99 for a medium set meal.
This year, McDonald's Malaysia is also reintroducing the refreshing Green Tea McFlurry, and the new Yuzu Cream Cheese pie with crispy crust and distinctive citrus-flavoured filling would be the latest addition for customers.
In addition to Japan, McDonald's Malaysia will also be taking customers on a food journey to other countries in the coming months, with an exciting line-up of limited editions of burgers that offer distinct flavours and ingredients.
