KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 -- The Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) says it is assisting the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) to become the first certification body for the Productivity Specialists Certification Scheme in the Asia-Pacific region.
In a statement today, APO said the role of the MPC will expand from a national-level training and certification provider to an internationally accredited certification body.
The project is being executed under the Certification Body Development Project, which includes training and consultancy services to the MPC for establishing the structure, documentation and procedures according to APO requirements.
The APO Accreditation Programme is the latest in a series of initiatives to enhance the capability of national productivity organisations (NPOs) by providing recognition as certification bodies in specific productivity-oriented areas of expertise.
Established in 1961, APO is an intergovernmental organisation committed to improving productivity in the Asia-Pacific region.
