JDT edge UiTM FC 2-1 in Super League home win

KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 -- Defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) chalked up their second win in as many games after defeating Super League newcomers UiTM FC 2-1 at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri, Johor tonight. 

The Southern Tigers opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Brazilian import, Diogo Luis Santo, before the visitors equalised via Victor Nirennold in the 19th minute. 

Muhammad Nazmi Faiz Mansor made sure of the three points with a goal in the 70th minute, which took JDT to second place in the league standings behind Melaka. 

Sabah, meanwhile, got their first win of the campaign with a comfortable 3-1 win over Felda United at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu.

Sabah opened the scoring with a Rodoljub Paunovic goal in the 11th minute before South Korean import Park Tae-Su doubled the score in the 38th minute. 

Felda United reduced the deficit in the 71st minute through Mohd Khairul Amri Mohd Kamal but substitute Maxsius Musa ensured all three points belonged to the home team with a goal five minutes later. 

At the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar, there was plenty of drama and a shock defeat for home team Kedah after they lost 3-4 to Terengganu FC.

Mauritania import Dominique Da Sylva was in a class of his own with all four goals for Terengganu in the second, 64th, 81st and 83rd minutes. 

The Red Eagles’ three goals came via import players Renan Da Silva Alves (18th minute), Kpah Sean Sherman (21st) and Tchetche Hermann Brice Kipre in the 61st. 

In another Super League match, Selangor and Perak shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil. 

National forward Muhammad Shahrel Fikri Md Fauzi put Perak ahead in the 9th minute, before Selangor equalised in the 31st minute through Nigerian player Ifedayo Olusegun Patrick Omosuyi.

In the Premier League matches, Penang recorded a 4-1 home victory at the City Stadium in Georgetown over Selangor 11 for their second consecutive win.

In the State stadium in Petra Jaya, Kuching, Sarawak United beat JDT II 4-1 while at the Cheras football stadium, Kuala Lumpur defeated Negeri Sembilan 3-1.
