KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 24 -- Negeri Sembilan Football Association (NSFA) is targeting the top two teams of 2020 Premier League to return to the Super League in 2021.
NSFA honourary secretary Satwant Singh believed the line-up of coaches and players of the Deers is capable of realising the target after making several major changes in the squad for the 2020 Malaysian League competition.
“I believe with the strategic moves, the Negeri Sembilan squad would be fortified with all our experience to bring out the best from the team.
“This because we have left the Super League and the time has come for us to be more serious in hunting for a slot in the 2021 season,” said Satwant in a statement issued by Malaysian Football League (MFL) today.
The Deers under former Negeri Sembilan President Cup squad coach, Sazali Saidon were reported to have signed up seven new players including two former national players, Norhafiz Zamani Misbah and Muhd Shahrom Kalam.
The team is further strengthened by five new faces namely former Selangor United striker, Nazrul Kamaruzzaman, former Penang defender, Che Safwan Hazman, former UKM FC player, Mohd Arip Amiruddin, former UiTM FC defender, Ahmad Azriddin Rosli, and former Under-23 national player, Nur Shamie Iszuan Amin.
Negeri Sembilan who made their last Super League appearance in 2018, were placed sixth out of 11 teams in the Premier League this season with 29 points from 20 games.
