Terminal One proposed upgrade to use private sector funds

28/11/2019 01:16 AM

SEREMBAN, Nov 27  --  The proposal to upgrade Terminal One, Seremban will be fully using private sector funds, said State Urban Well-being, Housing, Local Government and New Villages Committee chairman Teo Kok Seong.

As such, he said the Seremban Municipal Council (MPS) would identify companies which were competent, capable and have wide experience in the area.

‘’Upgrading and repair works must be made comprehensively and will require a large allocation since the Terminal One transportation centre is already over 25 years old and has numerous damages.

‘’Several series of discussions with the Malaysia Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) have been held prior to this specifically on the management of Malaysian bus terminals.

‘’Through the co-operation of APAD, the Seremban Municipal Council had received several proposals to upgrade the management of Terminal One. From the proposals received, most companies only focused on upgrading the Terminal Management System compared to upgrading the whole building comprehensively,’’ he told the State Assembly here today.

He said this when answering to a question from Ng Chin Tsai (PH-Temiang) on the implementation of a proposal to upgrade Terminal One through private sector or state government funds and the proposals of the private sector to make the upgrading work successful.
