KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 -- National women's football squad head coach Jacob Joseph has named the 20 players who will represent the country at the 2019 Philippines SEA Games.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) in a statement today announced that the national team had left for Manila this morning, and would face hosts Philippines in a Group A match this Friday (Nov 29, 8 pm).
Malaysia then plays Myanmar on Dec 2 (4 pm).
The top two teams from Group A will qualify for the semi-finals scheduled for Dec 5, against the first and second teams from Group B, comprising defending champions, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia.
The final and third-fourth place matches are scheduled for Dec 8.
In the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, the national team lost all four of its group matches, finishing at the bottom.
The following is the list of 20 players:
Goalkeepers - Nurul Azurin Mazlan, Asma Junaidi.
Defenders - Malini Nordin, Maizura Maurice, Usliza Usman, Noor Mianah Balanting, Alice Mic Midheal, Ainie Tulis, Jessica Susanne Mailu.
Midfielders - Jaciah Jumilis, Pedrolia Martin Sikayun, Dadree Rofinus, Ji. Fedalliah Claritta Jaimin, Eva Olivianie Antinus, Shereilynn Elly Pius, Nurul Izzati Zainol, Andrea Lee Xin Yi, Nur Faiqah Safira Farid.
Strikers - Norhanisa Yahya, Sihayaajad.
