KOTA KINABALU, Nov 18  -- The construction of the Telipok-Kiulu-Rondogung-Ranau road project is expected to be completed ahead of schedule, said Sabah Infrastructure Development Minister Datuk Peter Anthony.

“The construction has now reached 97.03 per cent and is expected to be completed by Dec 23,” he said when answering Datuk Joniston Bangkuai’s question at the Sabah State Legislative Assembly sitting here today.

Joniston (PBS-Kiulu) wanted to know the completion date for the RM288 million project and whether it would meet the deadline.

The construction of the 60-kilometre long road commenced in 2016.

Peter, in response to a supplementary question from Joniston, said the compensation payment to all landowners had been finalised and in the final stage of approval by the Sabah Land and Survey Department.

“I believe all the compensation payments will be made as soon as possible after the confirmation,” he said.
