PUTRAJAYA, Oct 20  -- Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa along with Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) officers met European Union (EU) ambassadors to brief on the Rahmatan Lil Alamin concept introduced by the government as a policy of Islamic administration in Malaysia.

A total of 13 EU ambassadors, led by Ambassador and Head of EU Delegation to Malaysia, Maria Castillo Fernandez sat for the meeting at a dinner held last Friday.

Mujahid in a statement today said a clear explanation was given on the concept of Rahmatan Lil Alamin (mercy to all creations) which is based on the concept of Maqasid Syariah and the Malaysian Model in line with basics of human rights.

He said similar gatherings would continue to be held to keep Malaysians as well as the international community informed on the matter.

"It is important for us to share with them on the idea of Rahmatan Lil Alamin’ brought by the government in promoting Islam as a religion of peace and harmony.

"To build and promote peace and harmony can be a difficult task as this should be a continuous process," he said.
